Greg DeGeller, President
Greg DeGeller joined Quantum Design in 2001 after 22 years with Boeing Company. His most recent position was Director of Industrial Engineering at the Long Beach facility. Using his extensive experience in manufacturing and quality control processes, as Chief Operating Officer he directed the reorganization of QD's production procedures to keep pace with the rapid growth of annual sales during the last several years. In 2012, Mr. DeGeller became President of Quantum Design. He has a BA in Business Administration from Washington State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Martin Kugler, Chief Operating Officer
Martin Kugler joined Quantum Design's engineering group in 2005 after earning his Ph.D. in low temperature physics at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Mr. Kugler led the launch of the MPMS Squid VSM into production and the management of the platform's option development. In 2010, the increasing rate of innovation at Quantum Design led Mr. Kugler to take on the role of Manager of System Engineering, where he streamlined and improved the quality of Quantum Design's new product introductions. In 2012, Mr. Kugler became Chief Operating Officer.
Dave Schultz, Chief Financial Officer
David Schultz joined Quantum Design in 1991. Prior to joining QD, Mr. Schultz was a regional controller for Blockbuster Entertainment and an audit manager with Coopers & Lybrand. He has primary responsibility for the Company's financial affairs and has overseen a steady stream of record profits. Mr. Schultz also manages banking relationships which have allowed the Company record growth without dilution of the owner's equity interest. He is a director of Quantum Design Japan and a manager of MagnaBioSciences, LLC and QD Advanced Research, LLC. Mr. Schultz has a BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton and an MBA from University of California, Irvine. Mr. Schultz also serves as the volunteer CFO of the Arthritis Foundation San Diego Chapter and is on the board of directors of the Arthritis Foundation San Diego Chapter and the San Diego World Trade Center.
Stefano Spagna, Ph.D., Chief Technical Officer
Stefano Spagna joined Quantum Design while a graduate student at the University of California, San Diego. After earning his Ph.D. in 1995, he joined the company full-time as a research physicist. In 2002, Dr. Spagna was asked to assume increasing responsibility in directing the activities of the Engineering Department. He currently is responsible for Quantum Design's product development program, overseeing a world-class scientific / technical team based in San Diego.
